Anchovies

Scout Flight

I bought this print along with “Refugium” together with the thought of making both frames similar. So, as with “Refugium”, I started with a wooden frame and covered it with flattened and soldered copper pipe. I then again laid on the metalwork over the copper, and went over the entire frame with scotch pads.

Refugium

I started this frame by first making the basic frame out of wood. I then cut up lengths of copper pipe, slit them and hammered them flat. I then made the necessary cuts and bends, by hand, and soldered them together over the wooden frame. I then finished it off with some extensive metal work over the copper, and went over the entire frame with fine scotch pads.

This basic frame is torch cut and rough welded mild steel angle, flat stock and twisted square stock. The banners at either bottom corner, columns at top corners, and top center screened frame are pewter pieces from the Tudor Mint. The pewter figure at the bottom center is by Gallo.
